Pink Pinwheels

I’ve had this quilt in the works for ages… but it took an ultimatum from my real life bestie Jac, to get my butt in gear.

You see I have an addiction… a fabric addiction! And its gotten a little out of hand.

Ok… it’s a LOT out of hand.

Jac told me that I am not allowed to by any more fabric until I’ve A.) organized that pile and B.) made at least 2 more quilts. And that is why she is one of my very best friends! Sometimes I need my butt kicked…of course, if I slip up, She’s not going to speak to me for 2 weeks! The big meanie! hehe

So I got my butt in gear and got back to work on a quilt I had cut pieces for back in NOVEMBER!

I love the way it turned out. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it, but after talking to a lady that volunteers at the local Pregnancy Resource Centre, I know exactly where it will find the perfect home :)

To quilt it I stitched-the-ditch. I debated Free motion quilting it, but I didn’t want to take away from the pinwheels and make it too “busy”.

I can’t tell you what fabric line this is because I cut into it so long ago and tossed the packaging, but I do know that I picked it up at Wal-Mart. *Gasp* Yes Wal-Mart. I live in a little town! But we’re lucky enough to have the big blue store nearby.

I’m cutting fabric for my next quilt today! And then a couple smaller projects and I’ll be able to shop again…

Maybe. Yes Jac, I know need to use up a bit more first.

Off to do some sewing :)

  9. What a fun idea! I love the colors. I want to try free motion quilting, but I'm nervous to do it. Maybe I'll try it first on a doll blanket or a hot pad.
