The Great Debate…

Quality vs. Quantity!

I keep having this internal debate. Do I write about something that seems silly or unimportant to me, just so that I have a post to publish?

Or do I take a step back, post a little more infrequently and make it “worth” more?

ITs so hard sometimes, especially when I’m in an “ideas wasteland”. I was doing really well for a while. I was literally posting EVERYDAY! Some were guest posts and I did have a link party for a while, and it seems to come easily.

Now not so much. I haven’t felt very creative. I haven’t been doing anything crafty. I’ve been living life… and lately that means lots of sleep, some crocheting and snuggles with the pup.

And you know what? I’m ok with it!

I’m super excited about the giveaways I’ve got lined up for the beginning of August! And I’ll be posting them Monday to Friday. But I think after that I am going to just go with the flow. Take some of the self imposed pressure off and blog about what I love.

Yup. That sounds pretty good to me :)

  1. I think many of us have that debate going on in our heads. There are times I have a lot to say on a subject, and other times I just want to post a photo. I do think that posting more frequently is a good idea because at least we're keeping in touch. I miss bloggers when they take a break. Even if they just post a few words, I like that better than silence. And even insignificant posts give us another opportunity to know each other better.

  2. I've had the same feeling lately. I did a lot in June and way to much in July. I'm looking forward to August being a lot less hectic blog wise. It's good to take a step back and get your creative juices back. I agree that even little updates are something. You always do picture updates to - no need for a lot of words you life moments. It conveys a lot. :)

  3. I have that same debate, and this week I finally decided to take it easy, and you know what?! It was glorious. The feeling of just deleting all of the emails in my inbox (okay, that sounds horrible... I answered the important ones, but didn't reply to comments for the first time ever) was the best feeling ever. Such a relief, I tell ya!
Anyway, relax, remember that real life comes first!

  4. Lord, girl.....you KNOW I am having this debate with myself quite frequently lately. Although I think it is impotant to not just completely drop of the face of your blog, I also think you need to do what feel right for you - first and foremost. When we start posting because we feel obligated to or that we are letting our readers down, I believe that we have shifted away from why most of feel like we are blogging and that is for ourselves. When it becomes a chore that is when we need to strp back and reevaluate...just my opinion for what it is worth!

    xoxo, Jules
