I’ve been meaning to make a new wreath for quite some time now. Its July… and I only took down my winter, snowflake wreath 6 weeks ago… Yup! Just a little bit behind on the seasonal change.
2 weeks ago during a thrift store run I stumbled across 6 of these wicker things. I had no clue what their original purpose was, but I instantly knew what I wanted to do with them. I picked up 3! The last week I asked some peeps on instagram if they knew what this was… nobody really knew… but they had some creative ideas :)
I started with this plain boring round wicker thing… added some Mint spray paint and ended up with this
A decent start… but it was a little boring. (yes those are puppy feet)
I couldn’t do this post with out sneaking in at least one fur-baby picture :) But can you blame me when she’s this cute?!? Hehehe
I grabbed some lace… I’ve been a little lace obsessed lately :) Yep! Lace works…
I cut out a piece of lace that was roughly and inch wider all around. And cut out the center, leaving an inch to fold back.
I snipped the lace in the center ever inch so it would fold back nicely.
Making sure to pull the outer edges snug against the wicker, I hot glued the lace to the wicker thing. after I flipped it over I thought it needed just a little something more. A couple of fabric flowers and I have (in my opinion) a perfect summer wreath! And it looks fabulous on my front door :)
Yep! Perfect!
This is so fun!!

Been awhile since I've stopped by here. Girl, you been up to some great things! I love how you used mint, which seams to be the "in" color this summer.
ReplyDeleteAlso on the craft swap you did, I loved the burlap banner, and scoping out pinterest? genius! I dodn't why I hadn't thought of doing that for the swap I am taking part in.
