Guest Post - Adele from Mammy Made

T-minus 1 day until Shop to Adopt! I'm going absolutely NUTSO with last minute details and I am so thrilled that one of my new bloggy friends Adele from Mammy Made is here today to share a new project!

...........................................................

Hi everyone, I'm Adele from Mammy Made. I'm really excited to be guest posting for the lovely Jennifer today. I usually blog about crafts (sewing and crochet mainly), recipes and homeschooling. Today I am going to be sharing something I made recently, a very cute crochet bath set. I love how these turned out. I've already got a few more lined up in different colours and I think they are going to turn out just as cute!
I've been thinking about Christmas presents early this year. I wanted to make so many of my presents last year but, because I left it so late, I hardly gave anything Mammy Made :( I thought this little bath set would be a lovely present, just add a nice bar of soap and some shower gel or bubble bath! They also make up really quickly, so if you're still not sure what to get your Mam for Mother's Day, which I believe is next week in America, then here you go! I'm sure every mother would be grateful for one of these :)
To make your own set, you will need a 4mm crochet hook and DK yarn. You will also need a wool needle.
Bath Puff
Main:
Round1: make a magic ring, ch3 and work 11dcs in ring, join with sl st in top of ch3 (12)
2. Ch3, turn, dc in st at base of ch3, 2dcs in each st around, join with sl st in top of ch3 (24)
3. Rep round 2 (48)
4. Rep round 2, bind off (96)
Repeat rounds 1-4 8 times. Weave in outside ends but not magic ring ends.
Tie:
1. ch100, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and across, bind off, weave in ends.
To make up:
Fold the tie in half and tie a knot to form a loop. I double knotted mine to make sure it was big enough to not fall through my magic rings. Loosen magic rings on each piece of bath puff and push the knot through. Repeat until all 7 pieces are on the tie. Weave in the magic ring ends, pulling tightly closed around the tie. Push the bath puff pieces down firmly and tie a knot at the top, making sure bath puff pieces are still tightly squashed together. Fluff the bath puff. Done :)
Soap Bag
Main:
1. ch23, dc in 4th ch from hook and across (20)
2. ch1, turn, sc across, ending with sc in top of ch3 (20)
3-32. rep row 2
33. ch3, turn, sk st at base of ch3, dc to end, fold in half so two dc edges are facing, seam edges with ss, sc across bottom and up other raw edges, bind off, rather than weaving in the two ends tie them in a double knot to form a little loop to hang your soap bag by.
Tie:
1. ch75, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and across, bind off and weave in ends.
To make up:
Thread the drawstring through the holes created in the dc rows. Tie off in a bow. I had my bow at the front of the bag because I thought it looked prettier than having it at the side but either would work. Done :)
If you want to see more of me, I have a Facebook page where I share most of my blog posts and I am also on Twitter and Pintrest :D
Thank you so much for having me today, Jennifer. It's been a pleasure.

Those Look Awesome! I'm definitely going to have to give it a try :) And soon! I'm going to need a long, hot soak to ease away the tension of the past week :)

Thanks Adele! You're more than welcome to drop by with a guest post again!!

  1. I have not crochet in a long while, but I wished I had taken out the needle. This is a sweet gift for mother's day. Wish I had more time. Thanks for sharing...Judith, Texas
