A Fall Wreath… Finally !

I’ve been wanting to make a fall wreath for the front door for ages. But since it’s stash busting September, I couldn’t just go out and buy a wreath. I had to get creative…

I love the look of this ruffle wreath by Days of Chalk and Chocolate

This burlap wreath from Life made Interesting is adorable!

So with some inspiration in mind I set to work. I took some sturdy cardboard (from the back of a package of scrap paper) took a smaller bowl for a template for the center and a larger mixing bowl for the outer circle.

I had some sage colored burlap from a project I worked on a while ago so I cut it in to 8 inch long and 3.5 inch wide strips.

Next I pinned in 3 pleats.

Once the pleats were sewn down I used a glue gun to attach the ruffles to the cardboard wreath. I layered them about an inch apart and glues the edges underneath.

With a few fabric rosettes to finish it off its practically perfect.

I can’t wait to put this bit of loveliness on the front door in the morning :)

**UPDATE**

The wreath is on my door and looking fabulous :)
