A Quilt Fit for a Princess!

I mentioned last week that I was in the midst of a mad dash to get a quilt made for a little princesses birthday. Well, I finished 2 hours before I was to be picked up leaving me just enough time to wash and dry it and snap a few indoor (boo! hiss! stupid rain!!) pics before wrapping :)

Yes it is taped over one of our doorways… there really wasn’t anyplace to take pics inside :s And the lighting is crap. I know :(

I used the basics from In Color Orders Patchwork Chevron Quilt tutorial, but changed the size to match the squares of pink fabric I had and the size I wanted. Completed it was 44 inches square, the perfect size for a 4 year old.

Before we could get to the presents we had to do some sliding and some cupcake eating!

Then the little Princess F. got to open her presents :) She was so excited about the quilt. Much more excited that I anticipated. When I whispered to her that I’d MADE it just for her, she gave me the biggest grin, turned to her mom and said “Mom!!! She MADE this for ME!”

On the 40 minute drive home she HAD to snuggle under her new quilt.

Makes every stich, needle pricked finger, and ironed seam worth it!
